Illianna's eye

On Thursday Illianna started crying about her eye hurting. I didn't know what had happened. So at 9pm she had been crying since 5pm and I took her to the doctor at the kids insta care. They sent us the ER. This ER had a children's section. Which was nice the nurse gave her color pages and juice. She fell asleep but would wake up crying cause her eye hurt. She would color and be happy then all of a sudden she would start freaking out and cry. It was very sad. Then the doctor and nurse came in.  He asked her what eye hurt and she told him it was her leg, not her eye.
They need to put drops in her eyes taht would make the scratch glow under black light. It was horrible they had to get a blue board with velcro on it to strap her down. She managed to wiggle out of it anyway. (The nurses said they had never see that before) They had to wrap her in a blanket and get another nurse to help and re-strapped her down.
She had a scratch on her eye The doctor thinks she may had gotten it with her nail... IDK. They gave her medicine and told me to medicate her.
We came home at 12:30AM and she wanted to cuddle momma in momma's bed. She ended up kicking Steven out.
When she woke up she was so happy! She told me momma the doctor made my eye all better! It was so sweet. I had to give her more medicine by my self which was very hard.
Today she is totally fine. I am so sorry that my baby got hurt but I am glad she feels better.
It hurts when your child is in pain and you can't help her.

July accomplishments

July has been such a great month for Illianna!
She did a lot of firsts this month and I want to highlight her achievements.
First of all she is now potty trained! I am beyond happy about this fact!
This was the first time she rode the zip line with daddy up at the cabin.
Her first sleep over (kinda they didn't sleep in the same bed the whole night) with her cousin Gracie up at the cabin.
The first time we rode the train to take daddy to work.
The first time she got to go see daddy at work in the court house.
Which means her first Dunkin Donuts.
Illianna and I went to her first play, we saw Peter Pan and she LOVED it! We even got to take pictures afterward with the characters. She loved Capt. Hook the entire play. However, he was scary in person. She was very interested in the crocodile. But she didn't want to get to close. She LOVED Peter and Tiger Lilly. :)

First time she had "rules to remember and repeat back to us"
1. no pee no poo underwear.
2. no weapons
3. no locking the door
4. no play strangers
Her first time doing swimming lessons. ( which means Oliver's first time being in a daycare setting)
Her first time posing. ( Every time she put her swim suit on she puts her hand on her hips and turns. it is so silly)

She is now 25 lbs!
We found her a new dentist in Orem that she visited. (It was funny she hugged him when he came and he said, "wow only my kids hug me I've never had anyone else ." Lol)
She rode with me on the go carts at Lehi seven peaks.
I am just so proud of my little girl!

POTTY TRAINED!!!!

It has been a long road but today Illianna earned her reward for not wearing a diaper and using the potty for a whole week! I am so proud of her and her great achievement! I know she loves using the potty and her excitment makes it that much better. I want to add that this week was full of tests for her including, a 6 hour mall trip, an overnight and day at the cabin; as well as being babysat at pa-pa's house. She passed!

It was so funny one day Steven came home and she knows she is not allowed in our room because he has to take his gun off. She was playing with Oliver on the bed and daddy said, "Illianna whats the rule?"
Illi, "no pee, no poo underwear"

She loves her Minnie Mouse and Dasie Duck underwear!

5 years for us, 34 for my wonderful example

Today is our family anniversary, I say that because five years ago today Steven and I got sealed in the temple making us a eternal family forever. I am so grateful for the temple and the blessings it has brought us in our lives. I love the Church and my family. I love my husband, I love knowing we will be a family not only on Earth but in the After Life as well.  I know the Church is true.

Today is also my parents 34th anniversary! I am so beyond grateful for the wonderful example they have shown. I love that my parents have stayed married.  I only hope the same for my family. I want my children to be sealed to their spouses and stay in the church.

I am just so blessed to have such a amazing husband. I love you Steven. I love you mom and dad!

27 on the 27th

Yesterday was my golden birthday! It was so much fun! But let me rewind a little first On Sunday we had the Bruner/Bowers family party. It was very fun. It was the first family event that my family attended that Danielle was at and it was good. I am trying to get a hold of my emotions and move on with the things that I cannot control. Illianna had a blast and it was great to see everyone!

Now my birthday. Steven made breakfast which is always nice. Then he made sure we all wore Superman shirts (we had to go buy Illianna one) He bought me flowers and we went bowling at Jack and Jill's in Lehi. It was very fun! Illianna is a great bowler. She got 101, I got 102 and Steven got 106. Oliver slept the whole time. After wards we ate at Chick Fil A and then went to my parents house. We went with my parents and sister Sabrina to go see Oz the great and powerful. My parents had a girl in the ward babysit the girls and Dutch. Oliver was very good in the movie. When we got home we roasted hot dogs over the fire pit then had s'mores. It was great! I had a very super birthday!

Illianna sings

Illianna loves her brother so much! I got this cute video of her singing to him. He was mostly mad because he wanted his pacifier.

Also on a side note. I thought it was a joke when people would tell me; but yesterday Oliver peed and it hit him in the face. It actually happens! I had no idea!

Oliver's birth story

I have been having contractions every night all week. But only when I would turn over or get up. But they were intense. I had been 4 cm and 80% effaced for two weeks now and I didn't want to go in L&D because this pregnancy I had been sent home three times already. I was starting to get really depressed!
On Wednesday the 27th I woke up around 10 and felt a little leaking. But when I got out of bed it stopped and so I debated calling my midwife to see what I should do. But again I didn't want to worry anyone for nothing and I had my appointment set for 1:40 anyway. I texted my mom and Steven, they agreed I may as well wait. I was having minor contractions nothing to be worried about.
I went to my midwife ( 37 wks 5 days) I told her what had happened and my fear of no more progression. She did two tests to see if I had leaked and checked me. I was measuring 38 weeks. I had lost a pound of now I was only 138lbs.
Results! I was 5 plus dilated! Still 80% and in fact leaking! She said congrats you are having that baby today! I teared up in the office. I couldn't believe it. I was so so happy! I called Steven and told him he had to get off work and that we are meeting our son today!
He was in the middle of court and had to set out to take my call. He was so excited as well and told his boss "I got to go my wife is being admitted." his boss: "for real this time?" Lol Steven went from 9th south to Orem center in 20 mins. Going from 80-85. He passed a highway patrolman hoping to get pulled over so he could be escorted but nope, no one cared.
He got to the hospital 5 minutes after I did with Mark. He was in full uniform duty belt including his gun and shiny new badge. This was at 3 o'clock. The midwife came in and checked me. I was now 6 cm so she finished breaking my water so that labor would go faster. Oliver just wasn't pushing down hard enough to fully break it.
My mom came and said she had to take her final today at 6pm. Sadly when she called her teacher they didn't have a protocol for Grandma's having a baby to get out of tests. :(I assumed i wouldn't have him till later anyway. Labor with Illianna was 12 hours, 2 of which were my just pushing so I figured something like that would happen.
I labored really well. I walked and bounced on the ball. I was able to breath through painful contractions. I was so proud of myself!
With Illi's I labored on pitocen for 2 hours. I was 2 cm when I got my epi and stayed in bed the whole time. So I was determined for this time to be different! And I was rocking it so far!
I learned there were 2 C-sections scheduled and that if I want my epi it would have to be after both which would have taken 2 hours for me to get. Turns out I was able to get my epi in between the other ladies.
I got it at 5:30 and was so glad I did when I did. It felt better. (I was still gushing about my joy of lasting through real labor contractions and dilating more)
At 5:50 The midwife, Dena checked me since mom had to leave at 6pm to see if I had changed from my laboring. I was now 7cm and 100% however, Oliver had turned face up. So they rolled me to my side to try to get him to turn back. At 6pm my momma hugged me goodbye and left for class. Steven went to go get food since I was only a 7 and had to turn Oliver.

At 6:15 Dena came in and said your ready to go! Lets have this baby! Steven had just walked in and thought he went in the wrong room. I was like "really? that was fast! Are you sure? That was fast!" I couldn't get over how fast it was suddenly going. There were now four nurses in my room taking my bed apart and getting me ready to have this baby!
I told Steven to call my mom and see if she could turn around. But it was to late. Steven and the nurse helped me sit up and I would push through my contractions. I asked for the mirror and watched the whole thing! It was amazing! My body wasn't mine anymore. It was suddenly all about Oliver and I felt the need to push even without contractions. I pushed him in out half hour. :)
They placed  him on me and he didn't cry which had me worried. But his eyes were open and he was looking up at his daddy. Steven cut the cord and the midwife had to give me stitches for a first degree tear (right where my episodeme was I had tore)
He is 6 lbs 5 oz. 18 1/2 inches long. His official time of birth is 6:49pm. I am so in love with him! This pregnancy has been miserable. Steven was happy to be able to tell him the Jazz won the day he was born just like they won when Steven was born.

Illianna was so excited to met him.We kept Steven's family tradition and no one was allowed to hold him until Illi did.  I want to thank papa mark for watching her over night so Steven could stay with us in the hospital.  We had my dad and Richard come met him that night. My mom was finally able to come see him around ten pm.

Steven finally went to sleep around midnight but I was just to anxious to sleep so I held Oliver for an hour then I decided to send him to the nursery so I could watch tv and try to fall asleep. At two am the nurse came in my room and told me that the harsh breathing noise he was making was starting to make him chock. They found out he had swallowed quite a bit of blood and aminoic fluid that was in his lungs. He was sent to the NICU. They had to do an x ray and they were able to drain his lungs from the fluid.
Steven went back to bed at 3am. I stayed up with him till 5. I finally was able to sleep for an hour and then got up and sat with him till the doctor came to look at him and his test results. He was given a clean bill of health and stayed in the room with us the rest of the time.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us and to everyone who called or skyped with us. It was so nice and we really felt your love for our family.
And now you will be photo bombed. :)

36 weeks

I am so ready to have this baby! The last part of pregnancy is the worst! I have no control over anything that is going on with my body and it annoys me greatly! I am currently 4 cm dilated and 90% effaced. I figured it wouldn't be much longer now but I am not having contractions anymore. :( Also I am now 138. Steven and I are going to get a family gym pass in April so I can start losing the weight.
Illianna is being so sweet. She gave momma a block and the set a block on my tummy for Oliver and she gets one. She is sharing with him already. It's so stinkin cute! Oh and she calls Chocolate Milk Oscamilk. I LOVE it!
My toes are so awesome right now!!!

The joys of my silly Illi

Just wanted to jot down some silly things my little girl does.

When she is naked she runs over to me or daddy turns around and  wiggles her butt on us and sings, "na-na-na-na" then giggles are runs away.

She has learned that if she sits down when I am trying to discipline her I can't pick her up and she thinks that is funny. (35 weeks today btw)

She is CRAZY about Curious George! If she could have George instead of parents she wouldn't even notice we were gone.

She is always crying to go to pa-pa's house in pa-pa's car.

There is momma's bed, illianna;s bed, Oliver's bed but when you ask her where Dadda's bed is she is confused and calls for dadda's bed because he doesn't have one.

She reads her potty book to me when I go the bathroom. In one part of the book I would read. "anne has a potty, katie has a potty, teddy has a potty, molly has a potty and Illi has a potty!" i point to each little girl and then point to her and her potty. When she reads it to me she reads, "girl potty, girl potty, tee-ttie potty, girl potty, momma's potty." She claps her hand for me when I am done and insists on flushing the potty for me.

Steven went to pretend to sleep in her twin bed to try to get her to want to go to bed. She came in sang the tangled flower song to him while rubbing his nose. She gave him a kiss on the check, put her blanket on him. Said "nigh-nigh dadda" gets on her chair and turns her light off. She then hushes him and closes the door.

She loves to help me sort laundry and put things in the washer and dryer.

Just some things I want to always remember about my baby girl :)

Six years fun

For our six year anniversary fell on a Sunday we celebrated all weekend. On Friday we went to macaroni grill for dinner and had a great time. For Saturday we went to Tuccanos for lunch. (Note Steven worked grave yard shift both days. Which was 10 pm to 6 am at the State Hospital) On our actual anniversary we had a pot roast at Mark's house.

It was really nice to celebrate so many times. On the 19th of February we went to my second Jazz game! It was Jazz vs. Gold State. I love going to Jazz games now! Lol, it was really fun! The Jazz won! So that always makes it even funner. :)

Six years

I cannot believe Steven and I have been married for six years today! I am so amazed that he still loves me after all this time. I love Steven and I cannot imagine life without him. He is so inspiring. He is the only person I know who sets goals and actually accomplishes them. He doesn't let anything or anyone hold him back.
I always encouraged him to do what will make him happy. I always believe you need to do what makes you happy. So he became a police officer. I am so proud of him for passing the academy with high marks and getting a job at the State Hospital.
He never gives up on me or our marriage. He has helped me through my mental illness and doesn't make me feel guilty or bad about it. I love him so much.
Thank you for six wonderful years! I love you and I always will!

Oliver update

Just so I can look back and see this. I am 31 weeks now 129lbs. (ten pounds heavier than with Illianna) I am measuring at 34 weeks. I have horrible back pain and can't sleep. So I asked my midwife (Jennifer Cook) for sleep medicine  so hopefully tonight will be better. I have an induction date of April 9th 2013 at the Utah Valley Regional hospital which is where Steven was born.

Oliver is gonna be a bigger baby than Illianna was. I have an ultra sound on Feb 27 to measure him and make sure he is growing correctly. I am really proud of myself because I started prenatal yoga and will start a 4 week Lamaze class next week. I hope this delivery goes smoothly and better than my first. I really hope I can go into labor naturally but I am glad I have an end date.

Illianna's Three!

We had a good little family party for Illianna's third birthday. Steven's dad drove us to my parents house where parents and Kim were waiting for us. We had pizza and Illianna got to eat peanut butter on a spoon and chocolate milk. (her favorite food)
Kim made Illi a Tangled birthday cake and she was SSSOOO excited! She wanted to pick at it and eat tangled so bad! It was so pretty!

It was a yummy chocolate cake with chocolate chip frosting in the middle. We then got to open presents from mom and dad. We got her a stacking block train and a double baby doll stroller. Pa-Pa Mark got her a giant Minnie Mouse! And my parents got her a super cute out fit. As well as a outfit for Oliver. It was a great night! Thank you family for making Illianna feel special on her special day.

For a side note the  next morning I asked Illianna if she had a good Birthday and she told me for five minutes that she got to eat tangled cake. It was so cute! Also Grandpa learned how to put the train back together so he can do it when Illi can't figure it out. :)

Job and a move

Steven finally found a job! He is a campus police officer at the Utah State Hospital. He loves it so far. He got offered the job on January 3rd. He was told to be there on the 7th. So he went to his live with his dad for the week while I quit my job at Dixie State College so that me and Illianna could  be home and pack.

He worked 12 hour days. And then came back that Friday evening to load up the truck and have us move. It was so bitter sweet to leave St. George.

I had one last meeting Karrie who is Illianna's speech therapist and one last meeting with Marnie who is from the Learning Center for Families. It was really sad to have to say bye to them. I also had one last doctor appointment with Doctor Cain and got to say goodbye to the main nurse Mary. They all have been such a big part of my family for so long that it is hard to not be able to see them again.

I am proud of myself for being able to pack everything up in a week. I donated three boxes of food to Dixie Care and Share. I took a lot of stuff to the DI. And I recycled three years of soda cans we had saved in the garage. We had 34 pounds of cans and got a whole 17 dollars. (I am never doing that again)

Now we are moved into our little two bedroom apartment in Orem. It is not as big as our St. George apartment but it was the cheapest we could find. I am grateful we were able to move in right away instead of having to live with family for a while. It has a dishwasher and washer and dryer which were my only requirements. So that is important.

Steven has been working as a police officer at the Utah State Hospital. He is loving it so far. He works 12 hour shift two or three times a week.  Followed by 8 hour shifts till he hits 40 hours. The change of daddy at work and momma at home as been hard on Illianna but she is finally adjusting. She cries when he leaves still but I am sure she will get over that too.

Now I have found a midwife (Jennifer Cook) and am just waiting for this little boy to make an appearance.

2013

Wow, it's a new year! So many things to look forward to this year. So many more things to be grateful for. Last year was rough. Steven and I had some hard patches but we are going to be married six years! Our sweet daughter will turn three! And we will become a family of four.
I am looking forward to the new year and all the new and excited things it has to hold.
